Music By Prudence

Inspiring
Wonderful story of a fabulous individual. Sensitively produced, but doesn't pull its punches. Uplifting and horrifying, but ultimately satisfying and hopeful. And the music is fantastic. Treat yourself to this one.

Powerful Prudence
This documentary doesn't gloss over what it must have been like for Prudence to grow up in Zimbabwe. There is raw emotion but it also portrays the true Zimbabwean Spirit that overcomes adversity and 'disability' with humour and strength. Prudence has an spectacular voice and together with the other members of her band they get your feet, hands and body moving. They write songs about what is real for them, laugh at things we find frustrating and tolerate what I would find intolerable with great style. Be sure to watch the special features if you really what a laugh. King George VI has been doing amazing work in Bulawayo for many years. One of the orphans from a home there went 3 times a week for Physio. When others said he wouldn't survive, couldn't walk etc etc, their dedication was evident! This little boy is now 3 years old and he is running. It took him a while but he got there. You will laugh and cry through this DVD. It deserved to win the oscar in 2010

Inspirational and awesome
I wish I could get more of her group's music on CD, or another chapter of her life on DVD. Just amazing. One of those movies that makes you think: "Why do I ever complain about my life??!!" A really awesome documentary.
